New paper "Regional encoding of enteric nervous system responses to microbiota and type 2 inflammation" from the lab in Science

Thrilled to share that our work, with Alok Jaiswal, Jacques Deguine, and the Xavier Lab, is now published in Science! We present a comprehensive single-cell atlas of the enteric nervous system under environmental challenges, uncovering coordinated responses to perturbations. Using in vivo Perturb-seq, we’ve identified key factors that link ENS cell states to alterations in intestinal physiology.

NSFC General Program Grant Awarded for Research on Enteric Neuro-Immune Interactions

We are delighted to announce that our research group has secured a General Program grant from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). This project centers on a newly characterized subpopulation of muscularis macrophages with microglia-like properties. These cells regulate enteric motor neuron plasticity and physiological activity, serving as an essential molecular bridge connecting intestinal inflammation to disrupted gastrointestinal motility.
