【New member】Welcome our new Postdoc, Zaiqi Xie
We warmly welcome Zaiqi Xie to the lab as a postdoctoral associate. Zaiqi earned his PhD at the Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, CAS, where he investigated Piezo1-mediated mechanical sensation in the nucleus pulposus and intervertebral disc degeneration.

【Award】Selected as the recipient of HCLS Distinguished Research Award from Harvard Medical School
Exciting News from the Tan Lab: Professor Peng Tan has been awarded the 2026 HCLS Distinguished Research Award by Harvard Medical School. He extends sincere gratitude to Dr. Vamsi Mootha for presenting the honor, and to Yiming for accepting the award on his behalf, as Professor Tan could not attend the ceremony in person.

【Publication】New paper "Regional encoding of enteric nervous system responses to microbiota and type 2 inflammation" from the lab in Science
Thrilled to share that our work, with Alok Jaiswal, Jacques Deguine, and the Xavier Lab, is now published in Science! We present a comprehensive single-cell atlas of the enteric nervous system under environmental challenges, uncovering coordinated responses to perturbations. Using in vivo Perturb-seq, we’ve identified key factors that link ENS cell states to alterations in intestinal physiology.
